We’re seeking a dynamic Outreach and Education Coordinator to lead community engagement, educational programming, and research initiatives that improve worker health and safety across Central New York.

Salary Range: $70,000 – $90,000 DOEDesign and lead community-based outreach and education initiatives.
Conduct health needs assessments and analyze outcomes to improve outreach effectiveness.
Create and deliver educational materials, workshops, and training sessions on occupational and environmental health.
Increase awareness of occupational health services among key groups—workers, unions, healthcare providers, employers, and community organizations.
Supervise community outreach partners and ensure message alignment across platforms.
Act as a primary liaison to advisory boards and collaborate with stakeholders in labor, legal, academic, and public health sectors.
Build and sustain partnerships with employers to promote occupational health services and preventative programs.
Work closely with clinical and administrative teams to integrate outreach efforts with patient care services.
Identify and pursue funding from agencies such as NIOSH, HRSA, and CDC , as well as private foundations.
Lead or support grant proposals, LOIs, budgets, and reporting requirements.
Collaborate on study design, data collection, and evaluation planning with leadership and faculty.
Support or lead research on occupational exposures, health disparities, and program evaluation.
Analyze data using SAS, R, Stata, or Excel to inform outreach and quality improvement.
Contribute to scientific manuscripts, policy briefs, and conference presentations.
Teach up to two courses annually for medical or public health students (depending on appointment).
Mentor MPH and medical students on research, capstones, or field placements.
Contribute guest lectures or modules in relevant public health or medical education courses.
Master’s degree in Public Health or related field with emphasis on occupational, environmental, or behavioral health.
Minimum 5 years of experience in public health, community outreach, or occupational health settings.
Demonstrated success in grant writing and program development.
Strong communication and technical writing skills, with the ability to translate complex health data.
Experience in public health data analysis and evaluation.
Proven project management and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Availability for local travel for outreach and stakeholder meetings.
Doctoral degree (DrPH, PhD) in Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field.
Proficiency in Spanish or another language to support multilingual community outreach.
Experience supervising students, interns, or program staff.
Knowledge of academic publishing and presenting at professional conferences.
