We are seeking a strategic, experienced, and forward-thinking leader to join our Global Research division as Deputy Director of North America Equity Research. This New York-based role is fundamental in shaping the direction, quality, and impact of our equity research offering across the region.

Job Summary:
You will work closely with the Co-Heads of Americas Equity Research to drive product innovation, mentor analysts, ensure regulatory compliance, liaise with internal stakeholders, modernize research infrastructure, and deepen client engagement. You will be responsible for maintaining and building management relationships to further your professional expertise.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Strategic Leadership: Partner with the Co-Heads of Research to define and execute the North America equity research strategy in alignment with global goals and drive innovation. Collaborate effectively and willingly across Global Research.
  • Talent Acquisition, Development & Retention: Help identify, recruit, and retain top equity research talent. Support, coach, and manage a high-performing team of analysts across sectors to drive franchise growth. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and analytical excellence.
  • Client Engagement: Engage with institutional investor clients and internal partners, including salespeople and traders, to help shape investment recommendations and insights that support investment decisions.
  • Corporate Access: Build and sustain management relationships and facilitate corporate access, including conferences, events, and non-deal roadshows.
  • Capital Markets: Support industry analysts on investor education and due diligence during equity offerings. Demonstrate expertise with the application of the Research Settlement.
    Technology & Innovation: Embrace technology to drive innovation and efficiency.
    Content Review, Oversight & Quality Control: Review, enhance the quality, relevance, timeliness and reach of research content and investment ideas.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with compliance, legal, and other internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and regulatory adherence.

Required Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in equity research, ideally with leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring research professionals.
  • Strong business communication skills and comfort engaging with internal stakeholders and institutional clients.
  • Deep understanding of equity markets, accounting, financial modeling, valuation, sector dynamics, analytical rigor, commercial mindset, and quantitative skills.
  • Strong grasp of regulatory frameworks (e.g., FINRA, SEC, MiFID II). Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, 24, 63, 86, and 87 required.
  • High level of organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and a proven ability to manage a team efficiently.
  • MBA and/or CFA designation preferred.
